Telecom and data-center equipment commonly runs from a -48 VDC supply. A fault on one branch of a shared -48 V bus can affect every load on it, so each channel needs its own protection and a way to be switched or isolated without interrupting the others.
The Power Rider 12-Channel -48 V PDU provides 12 independently configurable channels, each with up to 25 A capacity, and a total unit current capacity of up to 240 A. Protection is layered: software protection (I²t, over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature) and hardware fault isolation with a 1 µs cutoff.

Remote control and communication interfaces
The PDU communicates over CAN bus (J1939), RS-422 and Ethernet (UDP), so it can be integrated with a site or rack controller over whichever of these interfaces the system already provides. Each of the 12 channels has configurable parameters, which lets different loads be set up individually.
